Savvy Raghuvashi: Strong law of small numbers
Wednesday, February 12, 5:30 PM, Dinner provided.
Abstract: Conjectures like the twin primes or the Riemann
hypothesis have been numerically verified over vast ranges, so why can't we
assume they just hold true? In this talk, we will answer this question using
the Strong Law of Small Numbers, formulated by Richard Guy: "There aren't
enough small numbers to meet the demands made of them".
