"Making sense of your math placement score"
Discussion session on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 10:10 AM in Science Center Hall B. Should I take Math 18,19,21,22,23,25,55 or AM21:
Meeting and discussion on Friday, August 31th from 10:20 AM - 12 pm
in Science Center Hall B. Sectioning: After the introductory meetings
(see the schedule below), calculus is taught entirely in sections. To enroll in
Math Ma, Math 1a, Math 1b, Math 21a, Math 21b, you
must section by computer during the period starting Tuesday, September 4th and
no later than 4:15 pm on Wednesday, September 5th.
Note that you can re-section as often as you like during this time and your
previous entry will be erased. Your section assignment for Math Ma,1a,1b,21a,21b
will be emailed to you the evening of Friday, September 7th by close of day.
Directions for sectioning by computer:
From a Windows computer, open the SecureCRT application
[Download from FAS],
[Or use a 30 day evaluation copy],
or the free tool "Putty".
For SecureCRT, use the "Quickconnect" menu to open a connection with protocol ssh2, hostname: ulam.fas.harvard.edu and username: section .
From a Macintosh with OS X start the "Terminal" application located under Applications/Utilities.
At the shell prompt, type "ssh [email protected]" and type return.
Using any Linux or Unix computer, login into your FAS account.

available as follows: (We prefer to do calculus
advising in person rather than by phone or e-mail).
